After Octodad enters the kitchen, Scarlet returns from the store, carrying a bunch of groceries, including a banana. When Octodad asks for it, she reminds him that just yesterday, he called bananas "demonspawn from his darkest nightmare." A thought bubble from Octodad shows him slipping on a banana peel, explaining his dislike for them. She offers him the banana but then pulls it back, telling him he can have it only after finishing his kitchen chores.
In the kitchen, Octodad now has four tasks to complete: clearing the red counter of any clutter, putting dishes into the sink, cleaning out the fridge (which is considered done when all the items are left on the floor), and mopping the floor. Once all tasks are finished, his wife hands him the banana, and he exits the kitchen.
