Upon entering the living room, Tommy announces that Octodad must complete a "gauntlet of awesome challenges" before he can retrieve his suit. Octodad responds with indifference, but Tommy jokes that he could ground him, which would make him a chicken. Since even chickens have spines, Tommy declares that this must mean Octodad is an octopus, which prompts Octodad to take the challenge seriously. The gauntlet involves Octodad facing three tasks: knocking down a tower of blocks, scoring a goal into Tommy's makeshift "goal" (a cardboard box), and racing around the living room.
Once all objectives are completed, Tommy rewards Octodad with the key to the grandfather clock where his suit is kept. Octodad relaxes and watches TV. An advertisement plays for a fish restaurant called "Fujimoto Fine Fish and Sushi," where the Chef says he knows who Octodad is and is coming to get him. After Octodad turns off the tv, the Chef appears outside Octodad’s living room window, startling him.
